Seeking insights through travel
Connection has always been part of the journey.
SIS members, family and friends are heading to Chicago for a thoughtfully curated cultural and educational experience grounded in racial equality, social justice and mutual respect. Through Black Chicago history, labor and civil-rights stories, shared reflection and joyful city experiences, this journey advances the mission of Seeking Insights for Solutions: bringing women together across racial and cultural backgrounds to listen, learn and build understanding.Together, we will explore the people, communities and movements that helped shape Chicago and the nation—from Bronzeville and the Great Migration to Pullman’s labor history and the enduring work of Black cultural institutions. Along the way, there will be time for fellowship, meaningful conversation, music, food and the simple pleasure of discovering the city together. The Obama Presidential Center remains the heart of the experience—a place where history, civic engagement and personal responsibility meet. We hope every traveler returns home inspired by what we have learned, strengthened by new connections and ready to turn reflection into positive action.
